Business Focus, A Leading UK Publication, Spotlights Belize

Belize City, Belize, September 7th, 2023: Business Focus, a leading business publication in the UK, recently featured Belize in a comprehensive eight-page spread focusing on the destination’s innovative efforts and commitment to preserve its natural beauty, and to pursue green energy alternatives and access to education. 

In the article, Hon. Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, spoke about Belize’s natural and cultural diversity. He noted, “We’re a diverse country in our tourism product and in our people, which gives us the opportunity to use the sector as a vehicle for economic development in order to improve the quality of life for all of the people in Belize.” The article hails Belize as a unique and sustainable destination and it delves into intiatives that helped to rebound and grow the industry post-pandemic.  

The publication also featured an interview with Hon. John Briceño, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment and Blue Economy and Civil Aviation, in which he describes the country’s business potential and comparative advantages. Interviews were also carried out with a host of other government officials and company leaders including Hon. Cordel Hyde, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources, Petroleum, and Mining. 

In addition to elaborating on key government initiatives and pro-business environments, the publication also touches on the recent Belize Investment Summit, Belize’s sustainable use of natural resources, plans to transform the education sector, the country’s digital transformation efforts, and more.
