BTB and Carnival Cruise Line Host Educational Ship Tour for Belize City Students

Belize City, Belize—July 24, 2025: The Belize Tourism Board (BTB), in collaboration with Carnival Corporation and Carnival Cruise Line, proudly hosted an educational cruise ship experience aboard the Carnival Paradise for approximately 40 high school students from various institutions across Belize City.

This initiative aimed to expose students to the wide array of career opportunities available within the cruise industry—ranging from culinary arts and housekeeping to technical roles such as electricians, sound engineers, and plumbers, as well as entertainment positions including disc jockeys.

During the visit, students participated in engaging sessions featuring testimonials from current crew members, who shared their professional journeys, daily responsibilities, and personal experiences of life at sea. These firsthand accounts offered valuable insights and sparked meaningful discussions about career development in the maritime sector.

The experience culminated in an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the ship and a special lunch prepared by the vessel’s culinary team in honor of the students. The participating students expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity, describing it as both eye-opening and inspiring.

This collaboration between the BTB and Carnival underscores a continued commitment to investing in Belize’s youth and fostering awareness of the diverse career paths that exist within the tourism and hospitality industries.
