WestJet Expands Airlift with New Nonstop Service from Winnipeg to Belize

Belize City, Belize- July 20, 2026 – The Belize Tourism Board is pleased to announce that WestJet will launch a new nonstop service between Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG) and Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE), further strengthening air connectivity between Canada and Belize. 

The new route will operate once weekly beginning December 14, 2026, offering travelers from Manitoba a direct gateway to Belize in time for the winter travel season. The service reflects WestJet’s continued expansion of its leisure network in response to growing demand across the region.

“These additions support the growing demand for options in Mexico and the Latin Caribbean, while sustainably expanding our schedule and managing our fleet during the peak winter travel season,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. “We are excited to offer more ways for guests to trade their snow boots for sandals in the destinations that matter most to them, and we look forward to the travel stories that will take off from these exciting new options.”

The new Winnipeg service complements WestJet’s existing nonstop flights from Toronto and Calgary, giving Canadians travelers even greater access to Belize’s diverse tourism experiences, from the Belize Barrier Reef and world-class diving to ancient Maya sites, lush rainforests, wildlife, and rich cultural heritage.

Canada remains one of Belize’s strongest international source markets, with sustained demand from travelers seeking authentic, nature-based, and culturally immersive experiences. The addition of the Winnipeg route further supports the Belize Tourism Board’s ongoing strategy to expand airlift, diversify source markets, and make Belize more accessible to international visitors.
