Belize City, Belize, May 8, 2025: Today, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) successfully hosted the Building on Our Momentum (B.O.O.M.) Forum and the Belize Airlift Development Conference at the Belize Civic Center in Belize City.
The B.O.O.M. Forum is a vital platform for stakeholders across Belize’s tourism sector to engage in forward-thinking discussions, share knowledge, and build collaborative strategies for sustainable growth and long-term success. Dr. Vincent Palacio, Chairman of BTB’s Board of Directors, opened the forum by establishing a hopeful outlook and encouraging future-focused discussions on Belize’s tourism industry.
This year’s forum featured dynamic presentations from industry experts and keynote speaker, Seth Borko, Head of Research at Skift. The BTB’s partner agencies—Development Counsellors International, The Zimmerman Agency, GlobActive, and TM Americas— highlighted the latest trends and strategic developments shaping Belize’s tourism future.
The forum showcased Belize’s recent tourism milestones and unveiled several game-changing initiatives planned for 2025 – 2026, including the Grab Life Coach, No Barriers 2.0 Campaign, and the new Travel Belize website. Attendees were encouraged to align their strategies, explore partnership opportunities, and contribute to the industry’s continued innovation.
In the afternoon, the Belize Airlift Development Conference convened regional and international airline partners to discuss expanding connectivity, share airlift travel updates, and explore opportunities to strengthen Belize’s position as an accessible travel destination. Altura Aviation presented a report on Belize’s airlift landscape, followed by presentations and discussions from representatives of Air Transat, Spirit Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Copa Airlines, American Airlines, Cayman Airways, and Tropic Air.
During his remarks, Mr. Evan Tillett, the Director of Tourism, highlighted that having multiple regional airlines emphasizes the significance of strategic partnerships in establishing Belize as a top accessible destination.
The Belize Tourism Board extends sincere gratitude to this year’s sponsors: Bowen and Bowen, DigiBusiness, MADISCO, COURTS, Travellers Liquors Ltd., Belize Recycling and Waste Management Association and the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations.
Both events welcomed over 200 attendees from across the country, including tourism stakeholders, business leaders, and government officials.
